"A bilingual English/Polish language anthology of Polish history for high school students and college freshman in USA. The three parts of the compilation are designed to provide material for thirty lessons per year over three years. The survey consists of excerpts detailing Poland's history and culture from before the beginnings of Polish state in tenth century to contemporary times. The authors comprise a virtual Who's Who of specialists writings on various aspects of history, and volume’s three Parts include important primary sources as well as secondary, analytical texts. The inclusion of original, Polish language texts is aimed at assisting in the development of Polish language skills. For first-generation Polish Americans or Canadians, the English language texts provide a similar benefit. For those who have no Polish language skills at all and are simply interested in history of Poland, the English language texts will prove useful and convenient sources. The third and last Part treats the history of Polish diaspora, furnishing important information on an aspect of Polish history that is so often lacking in general treatments."
